This is pretty awesome. Michael Mann apparently did a TV pilot called "Takedown" that never got picked up, but liked the script so much he turned it into a movie: "Heat," which I love. Here's the same scene, played by two TV actors -- and Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. Poor TV guys.
From Defamer: File this under "films we didn't know existed": though minor details
like the plot, cast, and shooting schedule are still under wraps, Rob Zombie has already released the teaser poster for his upcoming film Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Um. Wow? The poster had me at hello.
I pledge allegiance to the new Britney Spears. Oh yeah, and he's a man (baby).
I am annoyed to have to wait for more "Lost," but little things leak out to keep me invested. Today, it's an extended version of the post-rescue press conference, in which Jack reveals the names of the three others who (at least in the lie) "survived" the crash. They are Boone, Libby and Charlie.
Why say anyone else survived at all? Doesn't that allow someone to fact-check their story, by looking for bodies on the island they supposedly landed on? (A long way to send a reporter, but still). To give their story more credibility -- that only these five magically survived both a plane crash and a deserted island -- I suppose. But why those three? Makes sure that those families will be paying a visit, get more details on what happened.
Also, though, if these three are somehow important, I'm annoyed they didn't include the names in the first airing of the episode.
(Above, my favorite hour of television from this year: "The Constant.")
This one is damn good.
Never, ever, ever gets old. Plus, bonus "More Than a Feeling."
"Shiny Happy People"...the worst R.E.M. song? No longer: redeemed!
